MoonRaven Tarot

This reading is performed with my home\made a divination set using bones, stones and a cowry shell.  These are pretty extensive readings so I like to use them for monthly readings or even readings for each Sabbat lasting until the next to give a general scope of what is coming.  The set itself consists of:

Various chicken bones (Chickens used for food), as well as a couple bones I have picked up in the desert.  Birds are thought to have the psychic vision and to see things we don’t.  I feel the bones hit my intuition without pictures or other things “swaying” my opinion one way or the other. Chickens are also known to protect against false readings and negative energies.  I consider large bones are large matters, they come from the legs.  These are the large issues or things that keep you or hold you up.  These can also be large issues that are "passing through".  Rib bones are what holds things together, they also represent protection or binding to me.  The little joint bones to me are the things that represent physical work and/or menial life and tasks.  The tooth represents the spoken work, how you will express yourself or in what areas you may need verbal expression or may have to use caution in verbal expression. 

Cowry Shell – I use this as the “Psychic Eye”  For me if it is pointing down it means that in regards to this reading in the near future you will need to be looking inward, self reflection is involved and intuition.  If it is pointing outward looking out then you need to look around you, signs or omens may be around you but keep your eyes open and yourself focused on outside events.

Garnet – This is my fire, where this lands and what this represents will be your action and creative or fiery energy.

Jade with a golden Pentacle carved in – This is my earth stone.  This represents family, reality, balance, material, here and now etc.

Crystal Point – Air – This represents conflict, thought, intellect

Rose Quartz – This represents water – Emotion, Love, Intuition, Psychic

So to give an example of a throw I attached a picture of a casting.  You will see a double point quartz at the side.  This to me just indicates North & South.  I pick up the whole group and I concentrate and ask for guidance on what is to come or concentrate on your needs.  These are typically not specific questions but questions asking for general life guidance.  When I feel the time is right I give them a little shake and cast them down.  Below I have included a picture of a throw and will give examples of how I read the positions of the bones and stones.  This was a reading perfomed for myself while in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy.

1. Rose Quartz has fallen in the east.  This tells me that emotions that I may be feeling that have been out of control are now falling into the intellect category meaning I will be feeling more balanced, and can start to explain the emotions instead of just letting them fly.  This is applicable since I have been emotional in pregnancy and now my feelings have been balancing out since the 2^nd trimester. 

2. In the South we see my jade Earth stone telling me that this may be a good time for physical action such as gardening which I have been wanting to do, as well as now feeling less sick following that exercise regimen.  Physical self meets action and energy of fire.  I also see right above but still in the section of fire are two ribs but they are farther apart and lined up naturally as if things that may have been constricting are falling into place now.

3. Moving up I see the crystal point representing air is meeting with the tooth of verbal expression.  This tells me to think before I speak this upcoming term.  Mean what you say and say what you mean.  Don’t skate around or be unnecessary.  This is a time for honesty and directness and not to say things you would regret.

4. In the middle tucked under a large bone is my garnet.  Also under the bone is a rib.  This tells me that a rather large issue may come up that may restrict my plans or creativity.  I may have energy but something may hold me back.  The good news is the large bones, as well as another next to it are all pointing to the East of thought and intellect, this tells me that this will be a big problem but to think on it and I should be able to figure out a solution.  I also see that the cowry stone is looking straight at the situation.  This is further reason to sit and think, look at all angles as well as use my intuition to figure out a solution and instigate the correct actions.

5. Another big bone is pointing between Water and Earth however it is way on the outside.  This is a big issue that has not quite come in yet.  However it is playing into my emotions and is a reality I will have to deal with.  This for me strikes me as the painting of the babies room.  This is something we have not addressed and don’t need to right now but it is bothering me and weighing on my mind heavily.
